The Carrera RS 2.7 needs little introduction. Built as Porsche's homologation special for the 1973 racing season, the RS quickly established itself as one of the most significant and desirable versions of the 911. The Touring specification, in particular, offers a wonderful balance of the RS's performance and character with the added comfort that makes these cars so enjoyable to use.

This 1973 Carrera RS 2.7 Touring, chassis 9113600802, is an especially interesting example, with a well-documented history dating back to its delivery in Germany.

Completed in March 1973, 0802 was delivered through Mahag M nchen finished in its original Lichtgelb (Light Yellow) over a black interior. It was equipped as an M472 Touring and retains its original engine, number 6630801, and original transmission, number 7830786.

The car was delivered new to Prince Max Emanuel von Thurn und Taxis, a member of the historic German family, and remained in Germany through a number of owners during its early life. In 1989, it was acquired by Gottfried Kadach, a well-known Porsche specialist, tuner, and restorer.

Kadach kept the car for approximately seventeen years and carried out a comprehensive restoration during his ownership. The work included both mechanical and cosmetic restoration, with the car returned to its original Light Yellow color. Particularly valuable is the documentation from this period, which includes photographs taken during the restoration and provides a detailed look at the condition and work performed.

In 2006, the RS was sold to England, where it was entrusted to Export 56 in Newport Pagnell. More than 30,000 was spent on additional mechanical and cosmetic work. The car subsequently received some well-deserved attention in the Porsche press, appearing on the cover of the June 2007 issue of 911 & Porsche World as well as in Speedster later that year.

The car continued to be maintained by respected Porsche specialists, including Maxted-Page & Prill, who performed documented work in December 2011.

Today, 9113600802 remains a particularly appealing Carrera RS for the collector who values history as much as specification. Its original Light Yellow color, documented numbers, distinguished first owner, long-term ownership by Gottfried Kadach, substantial specialist work, period magazine coverage, and extensive accompanying documentation give the car a story that is difficult to replicate.

More than fifty years after it left Mahag M nchen, 9113600802 remains a wonderful example of what makes the Carrera RS 2.7 so special: purposeful, beautifully engineered, and equally at home on a winding road or in a serious Porsche collection.
